ACTIVITY SUMMER FUN: WATERPARK

A water park or waterpark is an amusement park  that features water play areas, such as water slides, splash pads, spraygrounds (water playgrounds), lazy rivers, or other recreational bathing, swimming, and barefooting  environments. Water parks in more current states of development may also be equipped with some type of artificial surfing or bodyboarding environment such as a wave pool or FlowRider.

We go to Hidropark (Puerto Alcudia) where there are attractions such as:

-          Kamikaze: Two 15-metre slides... for the most daring of visitors!

-          Soft Track: Twist and turn as you slide down the ride.

-          Slice Race: Ready, steady, go! Be the first to get to the bottom sliding down at top speeds.

-          Spiral: Fast-paced and thrilling! Enjoy the mysterious, spiral descent and splash directly into  the water.

-          Line&Line: You'll experience different sensations as you ride each one

-          Wave Pool: A 1000-square metre pool generating waves over one metre high.

ACTIVITY SUMMER FUN: WINDSURFING

Windsurfing is a surface water sport that combines elements of surfing  and sailing. It consists of a board usually 2 to 3 meters long, with a volume of about 60 to 250 litres, powered by wind on a sail. The rig is connected to the board by a free-rotating universal joint and consists of a mast, 2-sided boom and sail. The sail area generally ranges from 2.5 m² to 12 m² depending on the conditions, the skill of the sailor and the type of windsurfing being undertaken.

A windsurfing sail is made of monofilm (clear polyester film), dacron (woven polyester and mylar. Sensitive parts are reinforced with kevlar mesh.
Two designs of a sail are predominant: camber induced and rotational. Cambered sails have 1–5 camber inducers, plastic devices at the ends of battens which cup against the mast. They help to hold a rigid aerofoil shape in the sail, better for speed and stability, but at the cost of maneuverability and generally how light and easy to use the sail feels. The trend is that racier sails have camber inducers while wave sails and most recreational sails do not. The rigidity of the sail is also determined by a number of battens.
Beginners' sails often do not have battens, so they are lighter and easier to use in light winds. However, as the sailor improves, a battened sail will provide greater stability in stronger winds.

The activity consists in:

-          Learning understand from where the wind is coming.

-          Learning how to keep on the board.

-          Start practise windsurfing.

ACTIVITY SUMMER FUN: STAND UP PADDLE

Stand up paddle surfing and stand up paddle boarding (SUP), are sports originating in Hawaii as an off-shoot of surfing. They enable surfers to paddle farther into the ocean than is typical or to paddle standing up as a sport unto itself. A 2013 report called it the outdoor sporting activity with the most first-time participants.  Paddlers race on lakes, large rivers and canals, ride breaking waves, and glide over long distances along sea coasts, often using tail winds to aid the trip.
A related, traditional sport, paddleboarding, is done kneeling on a board and paddling with the hands, similar to a butterfly swimming stroke. The term "paddleboarding" is sometimes incorrectly used to refer to stand up paddle surfing.
SUP boards are larger boards and the desire to travel with them has led to the development of an inflatable system where the board and pump can be carried in a back pack. The core material is called 'drop stitch'. Thousands of locked nylon stitches keep the board at a specific thickness. Pressure from specially designed hand pumps can inflate a board to over 30Psi. This creates a board not much less rigid than a hard board. Two of the greatest benefits of inflatable boards are their durability and transportability.

The activity consists in:

-          Learning how to stand up and keep balance under control.

-          Making games with the SUP, in each SUP can go two children.

ACTIVITY SUMMER FUN: KAYAKING

Kayaking is the use of a kayak  for moving across water. It is distinguished from canoeing by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle. A kayak is defined by the International Canoe Federation  as a boat where the paddler faces forward, legs in front, using a double-bladed paddle.

All the kayaks we provide are "Sit on tops", as the name suggests, involve sitting on top of the kayak in an open area. These kayaks are really easy to use.  The main objective is learning how to paddle and keep the balance doing funny activities with the kayaks.

The activity consists in:

-          Learning how to use the paddle.

-          Learning how to seat on the kayak and keep the balance.

-          Making games with the kayaks, in each kayak can go 3 children.

-          Make a little trip with the kayak.
